[Saba Sports News] The Netherlands spinner Aryan Dutt has set his sights on Virat Kohli’s wicket, and he is aiming to reach for the stars by targeting one of the world’s most prolific batters.
Dutt has been quite impressive in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, having taken eight wickets in six matches of the quadrennial tournament so far with an average of 32.35 and an economy rate of 4.96. Notably, Dutt has frequently been seen bowling during the first powerplay, which has garnered significant attention.
The Netherlands will play their last league match of the World Cup 2023 against the hosts India on November 12 in Bengaluru. The 20-year-old Dutt has expressed his desire to dismiss Kohli in that fixture.
“All wickets are important for me, but I would love to dismiss Kohli. I consider that wicket as the best gift in this World Cup,” Dutt said as quoted.
“I believe in my strengths and don’t worry much about the batters facing me. My focus is on consistently hitting the right lengths and using my speed and turn to outfox the batsmen,” he added.
Furthermore, the Duth off-spinner mentioned that his team has specific plans to restrict Team India from winning the game as the Netherlands are eyeing a spot in the semi-finals.
“We have plans in place for them. They are a challenging side and we are all committed to our journey towards the semi-finals,” he concluded.
Before facing India, the Oranje Army will play against Afghanistan and England on November 3 and 8 in Lucknow and Pune respectively.
