[Saba Sports News] Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the
richest man in the UK, is preparing to spend £1.25 billion to acquire a 25%
stake in Manchester United, with the deal expected to be completed this week.
The capital market sees the potential for an increase in Manchester United’s
stock price. During the week, Leon G. Cooperman, the founder of Omega Advisors,
and a billionaire from the United States, spent £13.5 million to purchase
around 1 million shares of Manchester United’s stock. Additionally, hedge funds
such as Psquared Asset Management AG and Antara Capital have also acquired
small amounts of Manchester United’s stock recently. Information shows that
Cooperman’s net worth exceeds £2 billion. However, his ownership of Manchester
United shares is significantly less than Ratcliffe’s, so he will not enter the
club’s board of directors.
