[Saba Sports News] UEFA has just released an official
statement revealing that Turkey, which had initially applied to host the 2028
European Championship, has withdrawn its bid. As a result, the United Kingdom
and Ireland are now the only remaining bidders for the tournament. While UEFA
has not disclosed the specific reasons for Turkey’s withdrawal, reports from
external media suggest that the country might have been impacted by a recent
earthquake disaster. Turkey is currently undergoing reconstruction and has
decided against pursuing the bid to host the 2028 European Championship.
Consequently, the bid from Turkey has been withdrawn, leaving only the United
Kingdom and Ireland in the running. UEFA is set to review and approve the
applications to host the 2028 and 2032 European Championship during its
Executive Committee meeting on October 10th.
