[Saba Sports News] The Toronto Raptors are taking a chance on Justise Winslow, a well-known figure from the 2015 NBA Draft. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Winslow, who once had high expectations as a national champion from Duke and the 10th overall pick in 2015, has been signed to a 10-day contract. Before this opportunity, Winslow was playing with the Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate.
Despite earning All-Rookie Second Team honors in his debut season, Winslow has struggled to live up to the initial hype due to injuries and shooting difficulties. His drafting ahead of notable players like Devin Booker, Myles Turner, and Terry Rozier has also been a point of contention.
Nonetheless, Winslow has managed to maintain a presence in the NBA, valued for his defensive skills, playmaking ability, and versatility. Last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, he averaged 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. The Raptors, marking his fifth NBA team, are offering him another shot, especially interesting as they recently acquired a former teammate of his.
