Sports News] The Asian Badminton Team Championships have concluded, with the
Malaysian men’s team securing the runner-up position by defeating the Chinese
men’s team in the final. Following the tournament, Norza, the president of the
Malaysian Badminton Association, addressed Lee Chong Wei’s previous concerns in
an interview with the media. Lee Chong Wei, a renowned Malaysian badminton
player, had expressed worries about the future of Malaysian badminton, stating
that without appropriate action, the sport would only decline further. He had
even contemplated giving up on Malaysian badminton but was reluctant to do so.
President Norza acknowledged Lee Chong Wei’s concerns and expressed his
appreciation for the player’s dedication to Malaysian badminton. Norza revealed
that he had discussed the matter with Lee Chong Wei and extended an invitation
to him to join the Badminton Association as a consultant. The president hoped
that Lee Chong Wei, if he agreed, could share his experience and provide
guidance to the national team, helping them progress. The editor believes that
Malaysian badminton has experienced a decline in recent years, as reflected in
the decreasing world rankings of their national team players. Therefore, the
addition of Lee Chong Wei, should he accept the invitation, could inject
renewed vitality into Malaysian badminton.
