[Saba Sports News] The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to kick off on October 05 in India with ten teams vying for the coveted trophy. Stadium preparations are in their final stages, and a viral image shows groundsmen working together, with one standing on the other’s shoulders to complete their task.
The tournament will begin with a match between England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Before the league stage, teams will participate in warm-up games starting from September 29.
India’s campaign starts with a warm-up match against England on September 30 in Guwahati, followed by another against the Netherlands on October 03 in Thiruvananthapuram. The Men-in-Blue will officially start their journey against Australia in Chennai on October 08, with a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 14.
Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, arrived in India on October 27 and will prepare with warm-up games against New Zealand on September 29 and Australia on October 03, both at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Their first league match against the Netherlands will also be held in Hyderabad on October 06.
The tournament will feature a round-robin format with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals on November 15 and 16, followed by the final on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
