Sports News] In the 19th round of La Liga, Getafe suffered a 0-2 home defeat
against Rayo Vallecano. During the match, Getafe player Juan Latasa received
two yellow cards and was subsequently shown a red card. In the second half,
Mason Greenwood, another Getafe player, was also sent off. In the 50th minute,
with Getafe already trailing by two goals, Greenwood reacted after losing
possession and directed some words and a hand gesture towards the referee. As a
result, the referee immediately showed him a red card. According to the
referee’s report following the game, Greenwood allegedly used the phrase
“fk you!” towards the referee, leading to his dismissal. However,
after leaving the field, Greenwood reportedly informed his teammates that he
only said “fk sake,” which is an expression of frustration commonly
used in English, rather than a direct insult towards the referee. Getafe coach
also commented after the match that Greenwood does not speak Spanish and that
his remarks were simply a complaint.
