[Saba Sports News] Pakistan came so close to winning their first Test on the Australian soil in the last 28 years at the Melbourne Cricket Ground but eventually lost the match by 79 runs.
Chasing 317 runs in the second Test of the ongoing three-match series, Pakistan looked on track to achieve the target with the score reading 219/5 at one stage but ended up losing their remaining five wickets within the next 18 runs.
The collapse started with Mohammad Rizwan’s contentious dismissal on a DRS call. Pat Cummins appealed for a caught-behind but the on-field umpire did not raise his finger.
Australia took a review and although the hotspot did not gave conclusive evidence, the Snickometer showed a spike when the ball was near the wrist. The third-umpire considered it as a glove-touch and overturned the on-field decision.
Rizwan and the rest of the Pakistan team was left flabbergasted due to this. Now, a reliable source within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared that the board president Zaka Ashraf has held discussions with team director Mohammad Hafeez regarding this. As per the reports, the PCB will take this matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
