[Saba Sports News] The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for Haris Rauf, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan to play in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL), starting December 7. The NOCs allow the players to participate in the BBL until December 28, aligning with the players’ workload and Pakistan’s future tour plans.
Currently, the Pakistan team is in Australia for a three-match Test series. Rauf, initially considered for the Test squad, opted out, leading to criticism from PCB officials and chief selector Wahab Riaz. The PCB has emphasized the decision’s alignment with stakeholders’ best interests and workload management.
Rauf and leg-spinner Mir, playing for Melbourne Stars, are eligible for a maximum of five games. Fast bowler Zaman Khan, representing Sydney Thunder, can appear in four matches. Post-Rauf’s BBL stint, England pacer Olly Stone, training with the Stars, might replace him.
Stone, who works under Peter Moores at Nottinghamshire, may join the Melbourne team.
The Stars open the BBL 2023-2024 season against Brisbane Heat at The Gabba on December 7. Sydney Thunder starts their campaign against the Heat in Canberra on December 12.
