[Saba Sports News] New Zealand, who are all set to play Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up match on September 29 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium located in Hyderabad will do so in the absence of fans.
A BCCI official recently confirmed to The Indian Express that there won’t be any spectators in the stadium for the game.
Those who have booked the tickets for the match will get a refund.
“The game will be played without spectators, and those who have booked their tickets will have their money will be refunded,” a BCCI official told The Indian Express.
The major development occurred after the Hyderabad city police cited the reason that they would not be able to provide the desired security on September 29 to the designated match center due to the festivals of Ganesh Visarjan and Milad-Un-Nabi, happening on September 28, a day before the match.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) had written to The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) about the same concern earlier.
