[Saba Sports News] Former Newcastle player Kieron
Courtney Dyer took to social media to share an update on his health. He
announced that his liver transplant surgery was successful, and he has been
discharged from the hospital. The 44-year-old Dyer has been battling primary
sclerosing cholangitis, a condition for which there is currently no effective
drug treatment. Two weeks ago, he received a suitable liver transplant at
Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. Dyer expressed his gratitude to the
medical staff involved in his care, emphasising that their efforts will never
be forgotten. Throughout his career, Dyer represented the England national team
33 times and provided four assists. He officially retired from professional
football in the summer of 2013.
