[Saba Sports News] Manchester United’s 2-1 triumph
over Brentford allowed them to escape the cloud of three consecutive defeats.
However, this victory had little to do with one particular player, Mason Mount,
who started the game. According to statistics, Mount played for 63 minutes but
had minimal involvement, touching the ball only 36 times. Out of his 26 pass
attempts, 23 were successful, and he won only two out of eight individual duels. He lost possession of the ball 10 times,
delivering a disappointing performance that earned him the lowest rating in the
team. After the game, fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Mount’s
lackluster display and directed offensive remarks towards him. Some supporters
criticised Mount for playing cautiously, sticking to safe passes, and being
defensively oriented, without showing enough effort or determination. Such a
player receiving a mixed salary was seen as unacceptable by the fans.
