[Saba Sports News] Mikal Bridges, an avid Chipotle enthusiast, has been eating at the popular Mexican restaurant every day for the past decade. He shared this detail in a GQ interview, and Front Office Sports estimated that he has spent roughly $50,000 on Chipotle during this period.
This might seem like a substantial amount, but considering Bridges’ NBA salary of $60 million post-this season, it’s a manageable expense for him. Remarkably, this Chipotle habit doesn’t appear to have negatively impacted his health.
Bridges boasts an impressive record of consistency and durability. At Villanova, he played in all 116 college games. In the NBA, he has not missed any game he was eligible for. His only absence was for a Brooklyn Nets game against the Chicago Bulls on February 9, due to a pending trade from the Phoenix Suns. Since this was not a game he was eligible to play in, it doesn’t count as a missed game in NBA records. Currently, Bridges holds the record for the longest active streak of consecutive games played, standing at 423.
During his GQ interview about the 10 things he can’t live without, Bridges highlighted his daily Chipotle habit. “Chipotle, I eat this every day,” he said. “It’s been about 10 years. My friends and family tease me, but it’s too good to pass up.” He then detailed his usual bowl order: white rice, no beans, double chicken, medium and mild salsa, corn, and lettuce. He used to opt for the hot salsa but found it increasingly spicy over the years, leading him to switch.
Bridges joked about feeling ‘soft’ for dialing back on the spice, as he generally enjoys spicy foods. Alongside Chipotle, his indispensable items include Air Force 1s, a toiletry bag from his NBA Finals appearance, Bose headphones, a POGA travel monitor, two Rolex watches, a Hypervolt massage gun, an iPad, and a heavy ball.
