[Saba Sports News] In the seventh round of the Premier
League, Tottenham secured a 2-1 home victory over Liverpool. However, referee
Simon Hooper’s decisions regarding multiple penalties during the match sparked
significant controversy. Following the game, Cristian Romero took to social
media to celebrate his team’s victory. Under Romero’s post, his national team
teammate Alexis Mac Allister commented, saying, “9 against 12 is like
this.” Romero responded to the comment by saying, “Go home and
cry.” During the game, Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones was shown a red
card in the 26th minute for a stamp on Bissouma, and a goal scored by Luis Díaz
in the 34th minute was disallowed for offside. After the match, the referee
organisation acknowledged that cancelling the goal was a significant human
error.
