[Saba Sports News] The Netherlands cricket team is preparing for the ODI World Cup 2023 at a training camp in Bengaluru. They secured their spot in the tournament with a four-wicket win over Scotland in the Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 in Zimbabwe. They now face the challenge of competing with the world’s top nine teams for the coveted trophy in India, starting on October 5.
Among their formidable opponents is the host nation, India, known for their strong batting lineup featuring Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Netherlands all-rounder Logan van Beek shared his humorous plan to dismiss Kohli during their clash in Bengaluru on November 12. He described a strategy involving outswingers, a slower ball, and pretending to change his bowling direction before praying to the cricketing gods to get Kohli out on the fifth ball.
Netherlands captain Scott Edwards also recognized India’s batting prowess and acknowledged them as favorites in the tournament. Their World Cup campaign begins with a match against Pakistan on October 6 in Hyderabad, preceded by warm-up fixtures against Australia (on September 30 in Thiruvananthapuram) and India on October 3.
