Sports News] Alice Wu, a rising star in the world of badminton hailing from
north Leeds, England, has been inspired by her brother Oliver and is now on her
path to the 2024 Paris Olympics as the mini mascot for the British badminton
team. Wu Aili, through her own hard work, has earned a spot alongside five
other children to represent the British delegation as mascots at the Paris
Olympics. Wu Aili holds great admiration for An Se Young, the world champion in
badminton from South Korea, and aspires to one day represent the British
badminton team in major international tournaments. Expressing her excitement,
Wu Aili mentioned that she has never been to Paris before and sees this as a
rare opportunity. Currently, she is undergoing badminton training in London.
Apart from the badminton competition, Wu Aili also expresses her desire to
witness the Olympic swimming events, believing that the British team will
secure several gold medals in swimming. Alongside their training, these six
Olympic mascots regularly interact and share their experiences with medalists
from the Tokyo Olympics. Just last week, they had the chance to meet Mallory
Franklin, the British canoe slalom world champion and Tokyo Olympic silver
medalist. Oliver, Wu Aili’s brother, believes that these experiences will
broaden her horizons and serve as a valuable asset in her life.
