[Saba Sports News] Despite their recent climb in the Eastern Conference standings, the New York Knicks might still be considering major roster changes. NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson reports that the team is open to trading Julius Randle, their two-time All-Star forward. The specifics of what the Knicks would seek in exchange for Randle remain unclear, but it’s expected that they would demand a high return.
Randle, who inked a new contract with the Knicks in 2021, has been a consistent performer for the team. This season, he’s averaging 24.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. His recent form has been particularly impressive, scoring at least 30 points in five of his last eight games, during which the Knicks have posted a 5-3 record. This period also aligns with the Knicks’ significant acquisition of OG Anunoby from Toronto.
Earlier in the season, there were rumors about a potential disconnect between Randle and the Knicks regarding load management. Whether these speculations hold any truth, Randle could be on the trading block if the right offer comes along, though it’s hard to imagine the Knicks parting ways with him easily.
