Sports News] According to reports from the English media, Jordan Henderson, the
English football star set to transfer to the Saudi team Dammam this summer, has
reached an agreement with the club. However, Henderson has chosen to accept a
significant salary cut and move to the Eredivisie instead of Saudi Arabia. The
primary reason for his decision is his reluctance to jeopardize his position in
the national team. Playing in Saudi Arabia would likely decrease his chances of
being selected for international duty. It is reported that if Henderson’s move
to Ajax goes as planned, his annual salary is expected to be only 25% of his £8
million salary in Saudi Arabia, and a significant portion of his new salary
will be subject to taxes. Due to the lack of key stars in Dammam Cooperation,
they are in urgent need of a new foreign player in the transfer market to
replace Henderson. Many fans have expressed their respect and understanding on
social media platforms because it is uncommon for a player to willingly give up
a high-paying contract in Saudi Arabia to return to playing in Europe.
Henderson’s return is seen as a move to compete in this year’s European
Championship, and his experience will undoubtedly strengthen the English
national team in his position.
