Hayley Matthews, the captain of the West Indies, has
solidified her place atop the ICC all-rounder rankings with scores of 99 not
out and a career-high 132 against Australia. Additionally, she rose to No. 7 in
the batting rankings, and No. 5 in the bowling rankings thanks to her four
wickets in two matches.
Matthews has been in excellent form as he has won
Player of the Match seven times in a row. She helped West Indies tie the T20I
series with Australia at 1-1 in her most recent two appearances, scoring 231
runs off 138 balls. Matthews now has 480 ranking points, a personal best, and
attributes her outstanding performances to her “leadership role.”
Matthews joins Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Ecclestone as
the top two players in the standings for T20 International bowling and batting,
respectively.
After South Africa defeated New Zealand 2-1 in the
three-match ODI series, batter Laura Wolvaardt and all-arounder Marizanne Kapp
rose in the rankings.
Wolvaardt has scores of 50 and an unbeaten 124 in
South Africa’s series victory, moving him up two spots to No. 4 among ODI
batters. Kapp moved up to ninth place in the batting and bowling rankings with
144 runs and two wickets. She is also the No. 2 all-rounder in ODIs.
Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, who has the most points in
the series, is ranked fifth among all-rounders in ODIs and eleventh among
batters. The England pair of Ecclestone (bowling) and Natalie Sciver-Brunt
(batting), and Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner (allrounders) are the current
table-toppers in the ODI rankings.
