[Saba Sports News] The entire Afghanistan cricket team is currently in India for the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. While competing for a spot in the tournament’s knockout stages, Afghanistan’s captain Hashmatullah Shahidi shared a heartwarming video on Instagram. In the video, Shahidi can be seen conversing with a taxi driver in India.
He mentioned that the taxi driver refused to accept any payment for the ride, and the entire team was deeply moved by the love and hospitality they had received in the country.
Shahidi’s Instagram caption read, “This taxi driver hasn’t charged us for the ride. I’m sure it would have been his half-day income. Respect to the guy. It means a lot to us. Overwhelmed by the love, respect, and affection people have shown us wherever we go since we arrived in India.”
On the cricket field, Afghanistan has been making a mark at the ODI World Cup 2023. They have played four games in the tournament, securing wins against Pakistan and England while facing defeats against New Zealand and India.
