[Saba Sports News] F1 racing driver Lewis
Hamilton, who recently turned 39, has been interviewed by the media regarding
his retirement plans. Hamilton expressed that he intends to take some time off
and carefully consider when to retire. He emphasized that neither reaching the
age of 40 nor breaking the record of eight championships is a determining
factor for his retirement. In the previous two seasons, Hamilton’s Mercedes-AMG
team struggled with their car’s performance compared to the Red Bull Racing
team due to the incorrect use of a zero-sidepod design in the new ground effect
era. Consequently, the team did not secure a race championship last season, and
Hamilton has been unable to regain the F1 world championship title since 2022.
Hamilton’s contract with the Mercedes-AMG team expires at the end of 2025, and
although he still maintains his passion for F1, some media outlets are
concerned that this year’s performance of the Mercedes-AMG car could influence
his decision to retire. In my opinion, winning the 8th world championship
remains Hamilton’s primary goal, and it may be premature to discuss the topic
of retirement at this stage.
