Sports News] In a recent interview, a spokesperson for the FIA (Federation
Internationale de l’Automobile) discussed the financial revenue situation in
2023. According to the spokesperson, while the FIA still faces a financial
deficit, it is not as severe as in previous years. The audited accounts of the
FIA indicate operating losses of 22.1 million euros in 2020 and 24 million
euros in 2021. However, under the leadership of current FIA president Sulayem,
the organization managed to reduce its operating loss to 7.7 million euros in
2022. It is expected that there will still be an operating loss in 2023, but
the spokesperson anticipates a further decrease. Detailed reports on the
financial situation will be released in June 2024. The primary objectives of
the FIA include promoting the development of the automobile industry and
overseeing all matters related to automobile competitions, such as road safety,
environmental concerns, vehicle performance, and the protection of users.
Additionally, the FIA serves as the governing body for motor sports worldwide,
governing all sports involving land vehicles with four wheels or more.
