been revealed that the displacement of F1 racing engines is set at 3000cc for
all teams, as per the regulations set by the FIA (Federation Internationale de
l’Automobile). These regulations state that F1 cars can utilize 6-liter,
4-cylinder turbocharged engines with a displacement of less than 3000cc. These
engines can reach a maximum speed of 19,000 rpm and produce a maximum output of
900 horsepower. The design of F1 engines must meet the requirements of high
speed, improved cornering performance during prolonged high-speed operation,
and compact, lightweight construction. Given the limitations on displacement
and output, F1 teams focus on controlling other parameters such as the body and
suspension systems. Currently, all teams construct their car bodies using
carbon fiber reinforced plastic, a material that offers both strength and
lightness. The base part of the car body weighs only 30 kilograms, and once all
the required components and the driver are added, the entire F1 car weighs just
600kg. However, due to the extreme demands of continuous high-speed racing, the
lifespan of an F1 engine is relatively short, and it is prone to self-ignition.
As a result, engines often need to be replaced or overhauled within 10,000
kilometers.
