[Saba Sports News] During the Paris Olympics qualification period,
there have been changes in the team of Malaysian badminton player LEE Zii Jia.
Daren Liew, a member of the coaching team, has left the team for personal reasons
and is no longer serving as Li Zii Jia’s training partner. Reports indicate
that starting in 2022, Daren, who won the bronze medal at the 2018 Nanjing
World Championships, had joined Lee’s team. Initially, Daren served as a
sparring partner but later became an assistant coach, and the two have
developed a good working relationship. Daren stated that after a heartfelt
conversation between them, they decided to conclude this chapter and move
forward. However, this is not the end, as Daren, who has been involved in
badminton since childhood, plans to take a break before embarking on his next
adventure. Some fans speculate that Daren retired in April of this year and,
after six months of training, gained valuable experience. In a previous
interview, he mentioned his intention to establish a badminton training
institution, primarily due to his pursuit of business endeavors and the limited
energy to continue as Lee’s sparring partner.
