[Saba Sports News] Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets appears to be disengaging from the team, as suggested by Zach Lowe of ESPN in his recent column. Lowe pointed out a noticeable decline in Dinwiddie’s shot attempts, with both his drives and field goal attempts at the rim reaching career lows. Lowe even suggested that Dinwiddie might be “on some kind of strike.”
This observation was echoed by NetsDaily, a team outlet, which confirmed hearing similar reports from a league source about Dinwiddie’s apparent lack of engagement.
The 30-year-old guard is experiencing a challenging season with the Nets, who are currently 16-24. His shooting efficiency has significantly dropped, indicated by his 39/32/78 shooting splits. Moreover, his average of 13.3 points from 10.9 shots per game marks his lowest in over five years.
Dinwiddie is in his second stint with Brooklyn, having been traded from the Dallas Mavericks as part of last season’s deal involving Kyrie Irving. He didn’t choose this return to Brooklyn, and there have been previous concerns about his influence in the locker room at other stops in his career. This current phase with the Nets might not be helping his reputation either.
