[Saba Sports News] The Phoenix Suns are on the verge of a significant comeback. Shams Charania from The Athletic, during his segment on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” reported that Suns’ All-Star Bradley Beal is progressing well in his recovery from a right ankle sprain.
Charania mentioned that Beal might be back in action as early as this weekend, with games against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday and the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
Beal, a three-time All-Star, injured his ankle on December 15 in a match against the New York Knicks. This was after already missing several games due to a back strain. Consequently, Beal has played in only four of the Suns’ 30 games this season. The Suns’ star trio – Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant – has managed only two games together, totaling just 24 minutes of shared playtime.
Despite a strong win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday, the Suns have been underperforming this season, holding a 15-15 record after a year focused intensely on championship ambitions. There are rumors of Kevin Durant’s frustration, partly due to Beal’s frequent absences, and other Suns players have even voiced their discontent publicly.
Beal’s earlier-than-expected return is certainly positive news for the Suns. However, it remains uncertain how long he and the other key players will maintain their health and form in the ongoing season.
