This fiscal year has witnessed an extraordinary surge in BCCI’s revenue, totaling INR 6,558.80 crore. This substantial increase in earnings compared to the previous year’s INR 4,360.57 crore highlights the BCCI’s resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on BCCI’s revenue during the 2021-22 season, with Treasurer Ashish Shelar attributing the downturn to the pandemic. He explained that the 2020-21 domestic season was mostly unaffected, while the 2021-22 season saw a reduced number of tournaments due to the pandemic. However, the 2022-23 season marked a resurgence, bringing optimism and confidence for the entire domestic season.
Shelar, as the guardian of BCCI’s financial well-being, expressed his commitment to preserving and enhancing the organization’s financial health, acknowledging the collective effort of past and present officials.
He praised their dedication and determination, emphasizing that the BCCI’s success is the result of the joint efforts of its officials and members.
