[Saba Sports News] The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) issued a reminder on pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s availability window for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
As already notified earlier, Rahman has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the BCB to feature in the IPL 2024 only from March 22 to May 11.
“We didn’t give NOC for the whole season. He can play in IPL from March 22 to May 11 as he games at home. We also have T20 World Cup. Bu we are delighted that he was picked by CSK,” BCB cricket operations committee chairman Jalal Yunus said as quoted by Cricfrenzy.
Reportedly, IPL 2024 is expected to commence on March 22 or 23.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) roped in Mustafizur at the base price of INR 2 crore in the IPL 2024 auction.
His availability concerns is not that big an issue for CSK as he is only their back-up option with Matheesha Pathirana being their first-choice pick among the pacers.
Mustafizur is the only Bangladeshi player to make it to a side’s squad for the upcoming IPL season. Litton Das got released by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Shakib Al Hasan did not register for the auction. Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam did not get the NOCs by BCB as they are Bangladesh’s Test match regulars.
