[Saba Sports News] Celebrated Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and his wife Rubab Khan joyfully announced the arrival of their third child, a daughter, on Friday, March 1.
The couple, married since 2014, are already parents to two sons, Mohammad Mikaeel Ali (born in 2016) and Mohammad Mujaddid Ali (born in 2019). Sharing the happy news on his social media, Akhtar introduced their daughter, Nooreh Ali Akhtar, to the world. He expressed his gratitude for the blessings and revealed that Nooreh was born during the Jumma prayers on the 19th of Shaban, 1445 AH, coinciding with March 1, 2024.
“Mikaeel & Mujaddid have a baby sister now. Allah taala has blessed us with a baby daughter. Welcoming Nooreh Ali Akhtar, born during Jumma prayers, 19th of Shaban, 1445 AH. 1st of March, 2024. Aap sab ki duaon ka talab gaar, Shoaib Akhtar,” Akhtar shared on ‘X’.
The date also marks a nostalgic cricketing memory for Akhtar, aligning with the historic India-Pakistan 2003 World Cup match, famously featuring his contest with Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
During this high-stakes game at the Super Sport Park in Centurion, despite Saeed Anwar’s century setting a formidable target, Tendulkar’s aggressive 98 off 75 balls overshadowed Akhtar’s efforts. Tendulkar’s innings, particularly his attack on Akhtar’s bowling, remains a highlight of that match, which India won, thereby knocking Pakistan out of the tournament. Akhtar’s performance, despite being costly, included the key wicket of Tendulkar, a small consolation in an otherwise Indian-dominated game.
