[Saba Sports News] Pierre Gasly, the French Formula 1 driver and a devoted supporter of French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, has realized his long-held dream of owning a football club and competing alongside Paris Saint-Germain. Gasly has recently acquired a stake in FC Versailles, a third-division French team located in the outskirts of Paris. Expressing his excitement, Gasly stated that he is delighted to join Versailles Football Club and has always aspired to be involved in professional football. This marks the beginning of a wonderful journey, and he is determined to see Versailles reach the French Second League. Reports indicate that Gasly has become a shareholder in Versailles Football Club alongside Alexander Mullez, heir to the Auchan empire and the current chairman of Versailles Club. Although Gasly’s investment amount is substantial, totaling 1 million euros, he remains a minority shareholder in the overall ownership structure. In the 2024 F1 season, Gasly had a slow start, finishing 18th at the Bahrain Grand Prix and last in Saudi Arabia the following week. Some fans jokingly speculate that Gasly may bid farewell to F1 and transition to Versailles in the upcoming season.
