[Saba Sports News] June 18 marked the mid-year shopping festival, and badminton world champion Sun Yu appeared in the Douyin live stream of Cleer, an international smart acoustic brand, to interact with fans. This was not Sun Yu’s first collaboration with Cleer; in 2020, she joined them for a live broadcast event on JD.com and Douyin. Returning to Cleer’s Douyin live room after four years felt like a homecoming for Sun Yu. As a world champion, Sun Yu’s influence and recognition are significant. Her healthy and positive image aligns with Cleer’s advocacy for a healthy and high-quality lifestyle. As a top athlete, Sun Yu demands high standards for sports equipment, adding credibility to Cleer’s products. During the broadcast, she gave away autographed badminton rackets and electronic products like the iPhone 15 to thank fans for their support. After retiring due to injuries in February 2019, 30-year-old Sun Yu became a university teacher and is currently an associate professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology. Throughout her career, she won multiple championships, including the 2014 Uber Cup and the 2016 Asian Team Championship. Her biggest regret remains not winning an Olympic gold.
