[Saba Sports News] Amidst the glitz and glamour of India’s cricketing arena, there lies a story of resilience and dedication that resonates deeply with the nation. Rinku Singh, the hard-hitting middle-order batsman, has carved his path to success, all while his father, Khanchandra Singh, continues his humble job at an LPG distribution company in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
In a recent viral video circulating on social media platforms, Khanchandra Singh is seen diligently carrying out his duties, servicing LPG cylinders, even as his son Rinku shines brightly in the Indian cricket team, especially in the T20I format.

Since his memorable T20I debut against Ireland in August 2023, Rinku Singh has displayed remarkable temperament and skill, solidifying his place in the Indian T20I setup. Despite occasional setbacks, his consistent contributions and explosive batting performances have often dismantled opposition bowling attacks, earning him accolades and recognition.
In a poignant revelation, Rinku disclosed in an interview prior to his India debut that he had urged his father to consider retiring from his physically demanding job of cylinder distribution. However, Khanchandra’s unwavering dedication to his work reflects a deeper ethos ingrained in his persona.
“I told Papa that you can relax now. But he is still hawking cylinders. He still loves that job. At one level, I understand his part also. If he starts relaxing at home, he will get bored instantly. If someone has worked all his life, it is difficult to tell him to stop unless he wants,” Rinku said as quoted in a conversation with PTI.
At 26 years old, Rinku’s statistics in T20Is speak volumes of his impact on the team. In 15 T20I appearances, he has showcased his prowess with the bat in 11 innings, amassing 356 runs at a staggering average of 89 and a lightning strike-rate of 176.24, punctuated by two well-crafted fifties. Additionally, he recently made his ODI debut in South Africa, further expanding his impact on the international stage.
