[Saba Sports News] The NBA has set its sights on the 2024-25 season and appears to have reached a decision for a major event. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the league is finalizing arrangements to hold the 2025 NBA All-Star Game at the Chase Center in San Francisco, hosted by the Golden State Warriors.
In the upcoming year, the 2024 NBA All-Star Game is scheduled to be hosted in Indianapolis by the Indiana Pacers.
The Warriors last hosted All-Star Weekend in 2000 at Oakland’s Oracle Arena. This summer, rumors circulated that Golden State was keen on hosting the mid-season festivities once more, providing an opportunity to showcase the recently constructed Chase Center, situated along San Francisco’s bay.
With their championship success and the immense popularity of two-time MVP Stephen Curry, the Warriors have evolved into one of the NBA’s most iconic franchises. They consistently rank at the top in terms of ticket sales, merchandise, and broadcast viewership, making them an attractive choice for hosting All-Star Weekend.
Golden State has made previous bids to host All-Star events over the years, even while playing at Oracle Arena. In June, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle reported that the Warriors were preparing a bid for submission to the league, along with cities like Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles.
Looking beyond the 2025 All-Star Game, the Boston Celtics and owner Wyc Grousbeck are expressing interest in hosting the 2026 edition.
Heading into the 2023-24 season, the Warriors boast a wealth of All-Star talent, including Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Chris Paul, with a combined 31 All-Star selections among them.
With their storied history of success and the state-of-the-art Chase Center, the Warriors appear to be the ideal hosts for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
