[Saba Sports News] Canadian F1 legend Jacques Villeneuve recently discussed Sauber’s performance in an interview, expressing his views on the team that has yet to score any points this season. Villeneuve bluntly stated that Sauber seems to be intentionally “lying flat” and not putting in effort to compete before Audi officially takes over. “Sauber might just want to survive until Audi takes over; they don’t seem to be putting in full effort to upgrade. They don’t even want to become competitive, so there’s really nothing more to say.” With more than two-thirds of the season completed, Sauber remains at the bottom of the team standings without any points, trailing 13 points behind second-to-last place Alpine. Sauber’s two drivers, Zhou Guanyu and Valtteri Bottas, currently rank 20th and 22nd in the driver standings, even behind newcomers like Oliver Bearman and Franco Colapinto who started competing mid-season.
