[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Aston Villa has proposed increasing the amount of losses allowed for Premier League clubs within three years by £30 million, from £105 million to £135 million. In the 2023-24 season, Everton and Nottingham Forest were found to have violated the aforementioned regulations and were deducted 8 and 4 league points, respectively. Similarly, Leicester City, who have just been promoted back to the Premier League, is also facing similar accusations and may be punished at the start of next season. Aston Villa, who will be playing in the Champions League next season, believes that increasing the amount of allowed losses will alleviate the inflationary pressure faced by Premier League clubs to a certain extent and maintain the competitive balance of the league without compromising the financial sustainability of the club. It is reported that Aston Villa’s proposal may be put to a vote at the Premier League club’s shareholder meeting on June 6 and will require the support of at least 14 out of the 20 clubs to pass.
