[Saba Sports News] Veteran wing Evan Fournier is ending his NBA career to sign a two-year deal with Euroleague team Olympiacos, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Fournier, who will earn at least $4 million over two years, was once a reliable double-digit scorer in the NBA. However, his career took a downturn after falling out of favor with Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks, where he was sidelined in his second year despite a $73 million contract.
A brief stint with the Detroit Pistons last season didn’t revive his NBA prospects. After showing solid form for France in the Olympics and having earned substantial money in the NBA, this move to Europe could be a positive step for Fournier.
