[Saba Sports News] Recently, the U.S. Court of Appeals, specifically
the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, has ruled in favor of Cristiano Ronaldo in
an appeal against the initial judgment filed by Kathryn Mayorga’s lawyer. The
Court of Appeals stated in its ruling that the first-instance judgment was
“confirmed” and “supported to a large extent by factual
materials.” Previously, a district court judge had dismissed the lawsuit
because it relied on documents obtained from Football Leaks, which were
protected by attorney-client privilege. Mayorga’s attorneys appealed to the appeals
court, but the Ninth Circuit upheld the lower court’s decision, affirming that
the district court did not make errors in concluding that Mayorga’s attorneys
had acted improperly. As a result, Mayorga’s lawyers have been ordered to pay
Cristiano Ronaldo €300,000 in compensation. The court dismissed the lawsuit as
baseless.
