[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers might need to consider other trade options beyond the Atlanta Hawks.
In his latest YouTube video, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reported that Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young is now unlikely to be traded to the Lakers, partly due to his recent change in representation.
“Trae Young is less likely to end up with the Lakers, in part due to his switch from Klutch Sports to CAA,” said Buha.
Young, a former All-NBA selection, was previously represented by Klutch Sports. The Lakers have a strong connection with Klutch Sports, which represents LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and many other players on their roster. However, Young switched to CAA (Creative Artists Agency) last month, a major rival of Klutch Sports. This rivalry even led to a notable feud, though it has since been resolved.
Young has been linked to the Lakers in trade rumors for over a year, especially since the Lakers are in need of a major acquisition. However, it now appears the Hawks plan to build around Young and No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher after trading Dejounte Murray to a Western Conference team this week. Young’s recent move away from Klutch Sports may further complicate the Lakers’ pursuit of him.
