[Saba Sports News] According to reports from Korean media, Tottenham Hotspur have requested the Korean Football Association to postpone the call-up of Son Heung-min to the South Korean national team. The South Korean national team is set to announce the final roster for the Asian Cup on December 25 and begin training in Abu Dhabi on January 2 of the following year. As a result, the team plans to recruit European-based players to join them directly in Abu Dhabi on January 2. South Korea is scheduled to play a warm-up match on January 6 before heading to Qatar to participate in the Asian Cup on January 10. Recently, South Korea’s national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann revealed that Son Heung-min would leave Tottenham on January 2 to join the national team. However, Tottenham have officially requested the Korean Football Association to delay Son Heung-min’s departure. The club hopes to retain him until at least January 5, following their FA Cup match against Burnley. It remains to be seen what the fans’ opinions are regarding this matter.
