[Saba Sports News] India all-rounder Axar Patel compared playing under Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya’s leadership.
Rohit Sharma made his comeback to India’s T20I team after 14 months. In his absence, Hardik Pandya led the side. But the all-rounder is now out of the team due to an ankle injury.
On his return, Rohit scored a duck, however, India won the match with six wickets to spare.
Bowling first, India had to wait for wicket till the eighth over in which Axar provided a breakthrough, scalping Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s wicket.
In his next over, he dismissed Rahmat Shah. The left-arm spinner bowled a tight spell, ending with the figures of 2-23 in his four overs.
Axar opened up on the leadership styles of both Rohit and Pandya, asserting that he has not witnessed any difference in how they operate. allowing him with enough freedom to execute his plans but interfere if they do not work.
“There is no difference. Both have given me freedom. They tell me to execute my plan first. They know my strengths and they allow me to set my own field. And if my plans doesn’t work, they interfere. So, as a player I really didn’t find any difference,” Axar said as quoted.
The second T20I of the three-match series is scheduled on January 14 in Indore.
