[Saba Sports News] The parents of Liverpool star Luis
Diaz have been kidnapped. The latest development in this matter reveals that
the Colombian National Liberation Army (ELN) meticulously planned the
kidnapping of Diaz’s father for a period of five months. Colombian media outlet
Semana reported that the ELN extensively studied the daily routines of Diaz’s
parents, including their timings for leaving and returning home, their
whereabouts, and their frequent acquaintances. Subsequently, the ELN chose a
date for the kidnapping just before the local regional elections. The ELN,
known as the second-largest guerrilla organisation in Colombia after the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, frequently operates in the mountainous
regions of northwest Colombia. This kidnapping incident has severely strained
the relationship between the Colombian government and the ELN.
