[Saba Sports News] In the recently concluded Taipei Badminton Open, Taiwanese player Tai Tzu-Ying lost 1-2 to Putri Kusuma Wardani, failing to advance to the women’s singles semifinals. After the match, Tai expressed her disappointment over the loss, especially since it was her farewell match and she couldn’t achieve a better ranking. She admitted feeling very down because she didn’t perform well and her injury had not fully healed. With Tai’s retirement, it marks the end of the “golden generation” of Taiwanese badminton. Throughout her career, Tai has participated in multiple Olympics and World Championships but has never secured a championship title in these major tournaments, which has disappointed many of her fans. Despite winning 25 titles in various open tournaments and numerous Super Series championships, she still has zero major titles.
