[Saba Sports News] Taiwanese badminton star Tai Tzu-Ying was brought to tears when recalling her Olympic journey in Paris, where she played despite injuries. She lost in the group stage to her Thai friend Ratchanok Intanon, failing to advance to the quarterfinals. After her final match, she embraced Intanon and cried, leaving fans heartbroken. Today, Tai Tzu-Ying posted again, admitting that she still tears up whenever she thinks about that match. She also thanked her fans for staying with her through both victories and defeats. It is reported that Tai Tzu-Ying had not fully recovered from an old left knee injury and then hurt her right knee during training, requiring treatment in a wheelchair. Despite media speculation that she might not compete in the Olympics due to needing crutches, Tai Tzu-Ying pushed through her pain and expectations, only breaking down in tears after her matches ended. A few days after the Olympics, Tai Tzu-Ying posted a photo of herself in front of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on social media, expressing gratitude and asking fans not to worry. On the same day, Intanon also posted a photo with Tai Tzu-Ying, captioning it with “A friendship that never expires.” In the photo, Tai Tzu-Ying’s eyes were red, and she made a heart gesture alongside Intanon.
