[Saba Sports News] The Indonesian Super 1000 Series Badminton Open concluded last week with China’s top player Chen Yufei claiming victory in the women’s singles final against South Korea’s An Se-young, securing her second consecutive title at the event. Surprisingly, Chen Yufei is not the record holder in the BWF World Tour Super 1000 series. Since the BWF transformed the Super Series into the World Tour in 2018, it has been divided into six tiers. The Indonesian Open belongs to the second-tier Super 1000 events. Among all participants in the restructured Super 1000 series since 2018, Tai Tzu Ying has accumulated the most wins with 60 victories in her career, establishing herself as the modern-day leader in women’s singles. Chen Yufei trails closely with 57 wins, followed by Akane Yamaguchi with 55 wins, and An Se-young with 50 wins. Notably, Tai Tzu Ying has also reached the Super 1000 finals nine times, a record-high in women’s singles history.
