Sports News] Tai Tzu-Ying, the renowned badminton player from Chinese Taipei,
recently updated her social media status to share a photo of herself hosting
Indonesian badminton star Mariska for dinner. This gathering was a result of
Tai Tzu-Ying fulfilling her promise to treat Mariska to a meal at a restaurant
in Malaysia. The promise was made after last year’s BFW World Tour finals,
where Tai Tzu-Ying found herself in a challenging situation in Group A. She was
on the verge of elimination but managed to advance thanks to Mariska’s victory
over South Korean player Kim Ga Eun. This victory propelled Tai Tzu-Ying to the
semi-finals and eventually led her to win the women’s singles championship.
During an interview, Mariska jokingly asked Tai Tzu-Ying to treat her to
dinner, and Tai Tzu-Ying graciously accepted the request. After all, Tai
Tzu-Ying not only claimed her fourth year-end finals gold cup, earning 12,000
points, but also received a bonus of US$200,000.
