Sports News] The Super 750 Series French Badminton Open is just around the
corner, and Chinese Taipei badminton player Tai Tzu Ying is already in France,
as she shared on her social media platforms. She posted pictures of her arrival
in Paris and exploring famous landmarks, indicating that she’s been having some
fun prior to the tournament. In her caption, Tai Tzu Ying expressed excitement
about staying in France in March and looking forward to the Olympic venues. As
the French Open competition venue is also the badminton venue for this year’s
Paris Olympics, the tournament serves as an Olympic test event. Consequently,
it has attracted top players from around the world, including South Korea’s
world number one An Se-young, China’s Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei,
Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, and Spain’s 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist Carolina
Marin. Tai Tzu Ying, seeded third in the women’s singles, aims to secure her
second championship title in the tournament’s history. In the first round, she
will have a “Taiwan Civil War” against Sung Shuo Yun. If she
progresses to the women’s singles semifinals, there’s a high chance she will face
South Korea’s top-ranked player and reigning world champion, An Se-young.
