[Saba Sports News] The Haas F1 Team is undergoing a significant
leadership change, with Ayao Komatsu, the Engineering Director, taking over as
the new team leader, replacing Guenther Steiner. However, observant fans
noticed that the official statement from the Haas team included comments from
owners Gene Haas and Reio Komatsu, but lacked any remarks from Steiner about
his departure. This suggests that there may have been a less than amicable
parting of ways, possibly due to disagreements regarding the team’s development
plan. Some fans even uncovered a report from BusinessF1 magazine in August of
the previous year, which stated that Steiner had reached an agreement with the
team back in 2016 to own 50% of the shares of the F1 department. However, as
the team’s valuation has steadily increased over the years, the Haas boss has
denied this claim. Steiner may realize that he could be missing out on a
considerable amount of money if he is not recognized as a major stakeholder in
the Haas F1 team. In the editor’s opinion, if the media report is accurate, it
is likely that Steiner will choose to take legal action against the Haas boss.
