[Saba Sports News] According to South Korean media reports, Son Heung-Min’s father, Son Woong-Jung, was fined 3 million won for allegedly physically punishing children and was also required to undergo 40 hours of child abuse prevention education. In June of this year, Coach Son Woong-Jung and two coaches from his “SON Football Academy” were accused of insulting players and hitting them on the buttocks with corner flags during training in Okinawa in March when the team lost a match or failed to train properly. In response, Son Woong-Jung expressed deep apologies for the harm caused to the children and their families and apologized to the public for causing such a controversy. After the incident, the academy apologized to the complainants and attempted to resolve the issue amicably. He swore that every action taken by the academy’s leadership was out of love for the children and stated that he did not intend to claim he did nothing wrong or that he did anything wrong. He reflected that he was merely guiding the children in his own way without keeping up with the times. The case was prosecuted by the Chuncheon District Prosecutor’s Office in August this year, with each of the three accused Son Xiong-Zheng paying a deposit of 2 million won, totaling 6 million won.
