[Saba Sports News] Legendary Manchester United player
Sir Bobby Charlton has sadly passed away at the age of 86. It has been reported
by “The Sun” that a signed jersey belonging to Sir Bobby Charlton
from the 1966 World Cup will be auctioned on November 14. The starting price
for the jersey is set at £30,000, and it is expected to fetch a transaction
price of around £100,000. During the 1966 World Cup, which was hosted by
England, they emerged victorious by defeating West Germany 4-2 in the final.
Sir Charlton, a key player in that triumph, proudly lifted the Jules Rimet
Trophy at Wembley Stadium. After winning the championship, he signed the No. 9
jersey and generously donated it to charity. Fans are hopeful that Manchester
United will acquire the jersey and display it in their museum.
