[Saba Sports News] In his first game post-All-Star break, Scottie Barnes brought some flair to the Toronto Raptors’ matchup against the Brooklyn Nets at Scotiabank Arena. Scoring the opening five points on Thursday, Barnes celebrated a three-pointer early in the game by striking a pose and then directly taunting Mikal Bridges with a pointed gesture, emulating Bridges’ own celebration style.
This wasn’t the first instance of Barnes receiving a taste of his own medicine, however. Bridges quickly retaliated by netting the next five points for Brooklyn, suggesting Barnes’ taunt might have been premeditated.
As the Nets’ leading scorer with an average of 21.7 points per game in his second season after being part of the Kevin Durant trade in February 2023, Bridges’ response was noteworthy.
Meanwhile, Barnes, in his third season with the Raptors since being the fourth overall pick in 2021, has been averaging 20.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.
